Kai is precious and so is our planet. We rescue quality food destined for landfill and share it with community organisations across Taitokerau Northland.
A full puku is a happy puku
Food should never be wasted. At 155 Whakaora Kai, we are on a mission to reduce methane emissions by preventing food waste.
We do this by partnering with growers, suppliers and retailers across our Northland region, collecting surplus food and giving it to more than 80 organisations that can share it with their communities.

Protecting papatūānuku
One kilogram of food in landfill emits the same carbon as that of 25-thousand 500ml plastic bottles.
By reducing food waste, we are also playing a part in protecting our environment for a more sustainable future.
