155 Open Arms Kaiāwhina | Day centre cook and cleaner

Do you have a passion for people and experience catering food for large groups?

Part time: 16.5 hours per week

Thursday, Friday and Saturday - 8am to 2pm

A unique opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and passionate person to join our 155 Whare Āwhina team as kaiāwhina (cook/cleaner) in our centrally located community hub, 155 Open Arms.

Working alongside our team of service coordinators and our wonderful community volunteers, the right person will be a crucial part of the 155 Open Arms operations.

With a naturally compassionate and caring manner, you will have the ability to use initiative to navigate the environment considerately, providing leadership and guidance to our volunteers along the way.

To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have experience navigating a semi-commercial kitchen effectively; preparing and cooking meals for 50+ people, while keeping the centre safe and clean as you go.

A large part of the role involves cleaning the kitchen and centre throughout the day, and a final deep clean at the end of each shift so it is important that you are fit and able to deal with the physical demands of the role.

If you have a passion for people and experience catering food for large groups, we want to hear from you!

We’re looking for someone who has the ability to lead the 155 Open Arms kitchen in providing our whānau with good meals daily.

If this sounds like you, apply now with your CV and a brief cover letter explaining why you are our next 155 Open Arms superstar.
