When
The phone line is manned every weekday morning - Monday to Friday between 9.30am and 12.30pm - for you to call in to book your shop.
Phone 09 437 0185 - extension 3. If unanswered, leave your name and phone number for kaimahi to call you back.
You can also email foodbank@155.org.nz at any time. Just let us know your name and phone number so we can call you back for a phone interview during these times.
Work and Income
We ask that you have tried to access assistance from Work and Income prior to dropping in.
If you have received a letter from Work and Income declining assistance within the past six months, please bring this with you.
How does it work?
During your phone call our 155 Whare Kai Kaimahi will have a korero with you.

Whānau can shop once every 8 weeks, and we ask for a $10 contribution but kei te pai if you do not have it.

Shopping at 155 Whare Kai
We want you to have a warm, inviting and comfortable experience.
Upon entry, you will be warmly welcomed by one of our Kaimahi who will walk you through the supermarket.
You will receive points based on the size of your household that you can spend on any items within the supermarket. These points replace money and everything in the supermarket has points allocated.
You’ll receive a trolley with a calculator so you can tally up as you shop.
At the end of your shop you will go to the counter and our Kaimahi will check you out and bag your kai.
We also have kaiārahi on-hand to connect you with additional wraparound support if needed.
